The Machismo's is the solo project of Sam Marsh.

Having gathered critical plaudits as singing drummer from legendary early 90s alt-rockers Jacob's Mouse, Sam began writing and recording as The Machismo's (misplaced apostrophe intentional) around the time of that band's breakup in 1995.

Self-producing and performing everything himself, Sam recorded two full albums on his home cassette portastudio. A band was loosely put together for live duties, but by the turn of the millenium, Sam had moved on to other projects and The Machismo's albums were put to rest, unreleased.

Jump forward almost 20 years and Sam suddenly realises that these recordings were BRILLIANT. Whilst not an obvious sequel to Jacob's Mouse's later, deranged output, The Machismo's exude a quietly adventurous spirit, and showcase Sam as a bold, accomplished songwriter, performer and producer. Like Jacob's Mouse, Sam's work as The Machismo's is almost impossible to pigeonhole - you could make comparisons with other singular DIY acts (Guided By Voices? Bright Eyes? Sufjan Stevens? Yo La Tengo?) but these recordings hold their own.

The Machismo's 1996 debut album, 'Good Things About To Happen', will be released Worldwide via Sturm Und Drang Recordings on Monday 4th August 2013.
